INA or Melling timing set?

Well I found a replacement engine for $625 shipped to my door that has 120k miles, so that's the route I'm going to go. I'll replace all the seals and gaskets that I can get my hands on of course and inspect the timing chain and oil pump while I'm there.

The Melling set arrived today annnnnnd it's made in Taiwan. Bummer.

IWIS is a longtime OE supplier for Mercedes and BMW. If you get a timing chain for a Mercedes from Worldpac or IMC, it’s likely going to be a IWIS.
I see some IWIS marked JWIS, same thing. IWIS does make racing chains for some engines. I did an Audi 3.2 V6 with an IWIS kit, made in Germany with all the guides made from aluminum instead of plastic. This set cures a multitude of ills, not cheap junk but you get what you pay for.

Well I received the INA today and it says that it's made in the USA. Interestingly the INA chain seems much looser and has a bit different link design. You can see that there is more room in between the links and you can twist it a fair bit more than the Melling. Also the pins appear larger in diameter on the INA. There is also an SA stamped on a few links which makes me wonder if it is a reboxed SA Gear unit? The INA also comes with a tube of Liqui Moly sauce for the initial run in.

This of course is if I decide that the chain the replacement engine needs replacing since it "only" has 120k miles.
