how many of you get a in house visit from your medicare advantage insurance people ?,my current advandage ins. (Humania) want to come in my house to check/health / wellness visit ,what to think,i said no to them and they were very insistent (I see DR twice a year) , i am rather irritated on this as i dont want someone in my home snooping around and give me a bunch of unwanted advice as I am disabled and retired and get along just fine, thanks for any input on what to think of this.

If they come to you then they get to pocket the wellness visit money from the Federal government instead of the doctor's office.

I dont even talk to them or answer their call. However, this year I may take them up on it. I want other thoughts and ideas on a condition or non condition really as they have been watching me and testing me for cancer for the last 5+ years, still none but I want one more biopsy to rest easy, maybe they have some ideas. SO anyway they pay me $50 for telling them. So what the heck, Im home anyway in BITOG ;)

I had a post on this. Read an article in WSJ.

The answer is they want to get as much information on your medical conditions as possible so the insurance company can tell Medicare how many medical conditions you have. More conditions means extra money they can get from Medicare.

They write down tons of info on their laptop and tell you one or two things. Given I see my primary doctor 2x a year the nurse or doctor who does not have access to any lab results and has only met me is not likely to tell me anything I don't already know

As a member of a Medicare Advantage plan you get EOBs but never see anything the insurance company tells Medicare.
