Anyone bought an item on ebay that is coming from a European country? What import fees and tariffs would be expected on a piece of electrical measuring equipment costing $1,800.00.

You need the country of origin and the HTS code and look it up. It can vary a lot like anywhere from 0 to 50%. Thats the duty.

The shipper will likely add "brokerage" fee, which might exceed the actual duty.

It should tell you at the checkout. I was ordering transmission cooler lines for my Sequoia a few months ago on the eBay, and since the item was coming from Japan, it listed the exact amount for tariffs, which was due to DHL to release the package.

What kind of gear is it that you can't buy here? I'm surprised ebay doesn't list the cost seeing how it can be shipped to you.

This is the item shown on ebay.: Leica TS16 P 1" R500 Robotic Total Station CS20 3.75G Prism with a price of about $1,016.00. This item with this price just reeks of scam. The retail price of this type instrument is about $27,000 for the instrument alone. The country is shown as England.
Something is just fishy about this.
