Ya-HOO! YA-hoo! YA-HOO!

Wonderful achievement Tom! That takes a lot of effort and discipline, and I'll bet it feels real good. Hard work pays, and I hope it does for you.

That's the tough part. There is some niche manuf. around here but the pay is relatively low for the cost of living and with the economy they aren't hiring much. I own a house here so I'd prefer to stick around.

Ideally it would be facilities or maintenance engineering/management. I've worked in some form of maintenance/engineering for over 14 years, I went back to school to learn management tools.
Secondary would be some type of manufacturing management like lean/six sigma or production planning. I know manufacturing from the the shop floor side from previous experience.

I get the feeling I'll end up in aerospace. I did an internship with a large aerospace contractor last summer, and another branch of the same company has been trying to entice me.

Good for you Tom! It took me awhile too. After my Associates in Applied Science degree, I worked a good ~7yrs before I went back for a Bachelors and I didn't complete that until ~2002. It's really hard once you've got a family, job, etc..
