Wifey and I went for a coffee in downtown Palo Alto on Sunday after chores. Walked by this incredible brand spankin' new Porsche Taycan, Sue kidded, "Ooh, is this ours?"
Pictures do not do this car justice. I felt like I was steealing just snapping a pic.
My guess is $150K plus is the price of admission... These cars are stunning. Of course, you won't need to buy any CA wannabe premium @ $5 a gallon, so there's that...

Pfft, for over a decade we've been paying over that amount for regular!

Obviously there is no supercharging of any kind for an electric drivetrain. Porsche uses the Turbo label in reference to the legendary 911 Turbos.
In the case of the Taycan, it references the top performance model.

I met someone at my local bar who had bought the top-end Turbo model and had so many problems with it that the dealer bought it back and sold him the 4S version. Just for reference these models here cost in local dollars $204k, $290k and $367k. And I'll mention that each dollar is just as hard to earn here as it is in the US.
I prefer to stick to cars I can park almost anywhere and not worry about it.

Let me explain to the the color fashions history.

In the 90s a lot of nice cars were in "tan" or "gold" color, like the Lexus LS or Camry cream puff, houses (mostly Spanish style with Spanish tiles) were painted beige and brown trims.

Then in 2000s we enter the era of silvers and white, houses were painted in beige still but more olive and grey tones, sort of matching the industrial and minimalist home styles, people started painting their "Spanish style" houses with Spanish tiles olive and grey, not my kind of color but whatever.

Then in the last 5 or so 10 years we started seeing cars going baby blue and orange, probably because Impreza were popular and people started to associate blue as less boring. I am starting to see houses painted to baby blue color and other more vibrant but "light" color like your color iPhone and iPad. It does make your mood more cheerful and it doesn't look as old school.

I think that Taycan here is trying to look "vibrant" but light, but not in your face colorful but more like a shiny plastic iPhone with grey theme. After 15 years I think metallic is out of fashion, matte is too hard to take care of, and plastic is in.

What‘s the guess at price over msrp? I guess $100,000. Quite a lot even msrp to go light to light on the El Camino. Another question, why? It isn’t to get the car I don’t think, it’s for something in psychology books.
 
We were down at Marco Island back in June and stumbled upon a Porsche-contracted photo shoot. It was the only one in the US at the time, supposedly. Pre-production model, I suppose.
