BMW is fast tracking the production due to strong demand for the i3 Neue Klasse. I have been following this car for years. It appears to be close to selling out before the 1st one is even delivered. Wow!

iX3 has apparently been extremely popular so far. Not surprising. True next-gen charging speed and range.

I'm in the market for a new vehicle, and strongly considering a BMW. I like the older vehicles more than some of the new ones, the X3 for example, and that's making me wonder about the existing 3 vs the new Klasse version coming later this year? I'll likely buy the old version before it's too late.
What an ugly steering wheel. Although I'm not the target audience for this vehicle. Will it have hands off driving features, at least on-ramp to off-ramp?
Good question. I will do some reading; so far I have not seen anything about FSD of any kind.
We can leave around town point to point to Tesla and Rivian and the robotaxi providers for now for the next couple years... but a high-end high-tech platform without on-ramp to off-ramp is a disappointment, especially at the price they want for that thing.
There is another argument; BMW is a driver's car. What will they deliver? Ya got me.
While getting my X5 serviced today at the BMW dealership, I chatted with one of the salesmen about the i3. He said the dealerships are expecting the first ones to hit dealerships in the USA in January. He seemed quite excited about getting to sell them, and felt the range will be a big bonus in marketing them.
It will be interesting to see if FSD is available in the new i3, but I don't think FSD is a priority to someone buying a BMW 3 Series car. I don't think it will be the same people that drive a Rivian or a Tesla. BMW caters to those that enjoy the experience of driving, not the person that wants to be driven.
