Sorry. There are more than a few regulations which do not help with saftey but make the job more time consuming. A steady does of common sense would do more for saftey.
 
Thanks for posting it but the only differences between that video and the worthless, hideously verbose YouTube videos people post today is that one was professionally made and it was black & white.

All the dragline digging shots were immaterial. It took X minutes to say VERY LITTLE. There were a few cool camera shots.

I liked the kid pouring cold water into a roaring hot radiator.

Someone should've put down his cigarette and beaten some sense into that kid. That'd desissyfy him by gum!
 
Lighten up Francis. The short was produced MCMXXX... In those days,jobs were scarce and times were tight. Everybody involved in that film was out of work after the it wrapped. WPA and all that. Too much of a buzzkill, I surfed over to the Cartoon Network.

People overlook safety when good jobs are scarce, & you need to buy food for your family.
