I picked up a NY Mets baseball cap last month as they were on sale and l wanted a new clean cap. I'm not really a baseball fan, and certainly not a Mets fan.
When l first started wearing it, random people would yell "Let's go Mets" or "go Mets". I was surprised at how many said it to me.
Recently, a Yankee fan started screaming at me "Mets Suck". Today, a random fan starts complaining about their losing streak being 10 games and how they need to fix the team. That was the straw that did me in. I've officially retired that cap and purchased a new Tilley hat. I don't think l will ever wear apparel with a sport team logo again.

Eh with sports teams it comes and goes. I've always been a UK basketball fan. Ohh a couple of my coworkers do the Rick Petino is terrible and so on. I have to remind them how terrible Colorado college Basketball is and oh nevermind. I think it comes with the territory so to speak.

I have a Miami Dolphins hat. I'll often have someone shout "Fins UP!"
When I wear my Chicago Cubs hat I'll often hear "Go Cubs Go!"
Never heard anythig derogatory. Now, if I wear a University of Michigan sweater in East Lansing all bets are off. ;-)

As it should be! Don't wanna be caught wearing Maize & Blue in Moo U territory. You'll be carted off to University Farms and rolled around in the cow poo. :) Sadly, both schools seem to currently be competing to see who can have the next sports scandal.

I am used to being very anonymous in public but ever since I got a Canucks hoodie with the 90's "Skate" logo, people talk to me a lot and comment on it:

It really happens a lot when I wear this and also wear my Blue Jays cap!

I've been logoless for years. I prefer to pass through the crowd anonymously, without comments regarding my choice of sports apparel.

Think of the Statefarm commercial where the kid with the Duke shirt is picking up his date and unbeknownst to him, her and her entire family are UNC fans. The Duke kid is silently ostracized by the entire family wearing UNC apparel without stepping foot inside the home! The kid gets in his car and mumbles ex-girlfriend! There are bumper stickers proclaiming a house divided when Duke and UNC fans “ intermarry “ ! Such is life on Tobacco Road when it comes to the greatest college basketball rivalry in the country. Go Duke!!!

In montana you are either a griz fan or cat fan and bumper stickers are either ESG or FTC

I have a decently warm (excellent actually, for the weight) pullover hoodie that I wear on coolish days. Thermofit (Nike) with a Seahawks logo. Got it at a second hand store for $5, brand new. I've had it for 6-8 years.............the people commenting saves me time reading the outcomes and standings on ESPN.com. :p  :sneaky:

Wearing a Blue Jays cap right now might not be a good thing the way that they’ve been playing lately 😵‍💫

Years ago I bought a bright red official style (wool) baseball cap at a minor league ballpark (Augusta Green Jackets) and the logo on the front is from the 1930’s Negro league team Kansas City Monarchs. Not certain but I think Satchel Paige played on that team.

When I wear it now the Red color triggers some (many actually) and they approach me and want to confront what I’m wearing but the logo confounds them. It is somewhat amusing since I’ve had the cap for over 25 years and for years nobody cared or noticed it. Now it is instantly recognized.

I’m acutely aware that wearing it could actually get me assaulted in some areas so I wear it much less frequently then I used to.

Years ago, Detroit had a farm team in Glens Falls, NY.
The Times Gothic D, for Detroit, was replaced with a G F in the same font.
I was amazed how many people would take a long, squinting look at that hat.
Rarely someone exhibited the social competence to ask.
