I need info on GMC OLM

I have a 01 GMC Yukon with 84,000 miles on it. I have been reading on the board that people are changing oil at 20-25% of life left on the OLM or less.

Is there a number that shows up on the OLM screen that I am not seeing of the amount on life left. All I am seeing is the yellow screen lights up and tells me I need a oil change. Am I missing something on the percent and mileage.

Not all models offer the "percent of oil life left" display. Older models just tell you to "change oil soon" or "change oil now". I do not remember the exact details, but if I recall correctly when the change oil now light comes on there is something like a 500 mile cushion.

Actually it's 600 miles. Simply drive until your OLM indicates you need to change oil...you have 600 mile cushion...change your oil and filter and reset the OLM by turning the key to the on position with engine NOT running. Press on the accelerator 3 times in 5 seconds and the OLM will reset...you are good to go.
