I nearly pooped myself....

For some reason, even though the ad says "Thank you America", I can't help but reading something else. Replace "Thank" with a word that starts with S or F.

The only thing that bothers me about that picture is the Ford Van and the Ford logo. Ford did not ask for a bailout, nor are they receiving any of the money. It's going to GM and Chrysler.

I think I did....

OK I guess I overstated my level of surprise a bit. Nothing the clowns do really surprises me any more....butt the gall of these guys has no end, makes me taste bile....and perhaps a little uncontrolled release is in my future.

Ford asked for money to be made available in case they need it, so they did ask for money on a different level than GM and Crysler.

For ASKED for a line of credit to be made available "just in case". They did not receive said line of credit.

Personally, I think it is a good move on their part.

Not that any of these bailouts are necessarily good things, or that they were the smart moves, but it is a polite thing to do.

Yes, it cost money, and yes, that was OUR money, but it beats hearing about executive parties on our dime. At least it was the polite thing to do...

Somewhat of good idea when viewed as advertising. Plenty of people discussing the ad, good or bad. Some may get a little fuzzy feeling from the delusion of thinking they are actually appreciated. Better spent on advertising or public relations than blowing it on an executive retreat. Ehh... oh well no movement. I guess I'll go check the medicine cabinet.

Adds are a joke.

Best add would have been to place a copy of the add that they wree intending to run on every windshield of every car in their lots, and beneath it say "by not running the add, we've taken $100 off the price"

Within hours, the add would be being distributed by the media for free.

This is a picture I posted on here and got banned for a week because it had the word S**T in it. Be careful!

I disagree and think the ad is a great usage of money. Part of selling cars is building a decent product that meets people's needs. The other is perception of a company, brand and product. Ads do play a decent role in the perception of a product and thank you notes go a long way for me in business and personal matters.

Good job to the ad creator.

Of the Big Three Chrysler/Dodge is the only product I would choose since my next vehicle is a minivan. Although I would never buy brand new anyway so I guess I really don't support the auto making industry.

Chrysler is the lamest of the Big 3; Heavily scrutinized for flying in a private jet to DC, now this ad. I'll never own a Chrysler. I got at least 50 more years of car purchasing to do.
