China and Mexico are pretty much tied for last place. I don't think China needs an explanation. As far as Mexico goes, imagine the filthiest dive bar you've ever been in, then imagine the toilet in the back that's been broken for years and never been cleaned. That's Mexico as far as I'm concerned. A filthy, dangerous, cancerous, corrupt place fueled by drugs and greed. I don't want anything that comes from that hole.

I've been to Mexico at least 30 times, sometimes for over two weeks. Sounds like you are attracted to different places than I am.

When I was single and in the military I saw some of your type of place though.

What can I say, I have some strong opinions. I'll admit, if you go to the southern parts of the country where the resorts are it's not that bad and I've heard Mexico City isn't terrible, but the border towns are rancid, and that's where most of Mexican made/assembled goods you see at the store come from. Your business is not helping the people there at all. The mexicans have to live like animals with what little they're paid, the american workers have no job, and the business owner cashes a check. I can't support that.

So how is your boycott going to help them? They'll leave the cities and go back to farming corn or whatever? It'll teach them some sort of lesson, like clean the privy before you set up a recycled battery smelter?

My girlfriend was born and raised until she was 17 in Mexico. Her hometown is a beautiful place full of kind people with great values. Mexico consists of FAR more than border towns and tourist traps. Many small towns and villages are as ideal a place to visit as any in the world.....and as a whole, these folks treat others far better than most Americans do. It's a pity that the government there is corrupt and does little to allow it's own people the ability to prosper. The resources, talents, and abilities of it's people will someday make Mexico an economic powerhouse.....as soon as they have another revolution and rid themselves of the current system.

Off course there still is the drug problem to deal with.

The drug dealers and army have all the guns = people loose.

Last I heard, the second leading "industry" in Mexico was legals and illegals in this country sending money back home. Explains a few things and is not something that I like to support.

So you're against family values? Against supporting one's elderly mother financially? She should get help from the government?

Economic strife has a lot to do with the drug issue. But it's good to remember that even in the wealthy U.S., we have our share of drug related problems.

Nothing wrong with sending money back to your less well-off family....no matter what country they live in. My only issue, as should be for any American, is illegal immigration. What a legal immigrant does with the money they earn is not for others to judge. Besides, sounds like a decent thing to do....you know, taking care of your family?!

So you consider "family values" to be illegally coming into the country, illegally get a job that takes away jobs from legals, and then send that ill gotten money OUT of our economy?

How about hopping the border to have an anchor baby?

They have no interest in assimilating and making this country better. In fact, they want US to assimilate to them. They are only interested in breaking the law and taking money from the law abiding.

The Mexican government also has policies that actively urge people to cross the boarder just so they can get part of the money. That is not a USA friendly stance.

If people are here LEGALLY and are productive members of society, then they can do what they want with their money.
