I just tried Black Magic...

well I was bored at work so I tried the Black Magic stuff...I tried it on a spot and it left more of a shine and deeper look than my Zaino AIO so I figured i would do the whole car...

what a workout....I guess I was removing the Zaino when I was trying to get the Black magic off...

its shiny and slick which the ZAINO didnt do but it was more of a pain than I expected..

what kind of wax is this exactly? the black magic...

what I wanted to do was put a topcoat of something over my Zaino but I think I removed the Zaino....not that its a bad thing as the car is really shiny but....

who else has used this stuff

I'm currently using Black Magic paste (in the big black toothpaste tube) and I really like it. It's outlasted everything else I've tried and I get a very deep shine on my Black Cherry Mazdaspeed 6. It's a little harder to use, but is worth it since it lasts so long. There are a lot of people that sing the praises of Zaino and Klasse but I can't justify the cost.

Yes.

Dollar for dollar, it's probably the best wax I've ever used. Beads forever, and very good shine.

Is this something I can get at Napa/Advanced/OReilly's? I have Klasse, but I thought it was very hard to use.

Black Magic isn't very good. I used it years ago before ever dreaming of trying Zaino. I had streaking issues with it. The gloss washes away. If you felt that ZAIO didn't have enough pop then I'd suggest topping with Z8. IMO Z8 adds an incredible glow that no other product matches.

Megs 21 is a good choice if you aren't looking to invest the extra $$$ for Zaino. just wait and get the new 2.0 version.

FWIW, comparing a $6 bottle of wax to one that cost 10x as much really isn't a fair comparison. For daily drivers in snow, salt etc. the Black Magic works very well and beads for a long time.

The all around best car wax/polish I have ever used was called Racers Edge. IMO it is hands down the best stuff I have ever used. I dont think you can get it at the store or anything but you can buy it online. They make automotive, marine, and aviation polishes, the US Air Focre even conducted a test and tested their avation polish. It was a test for drag coefficents and such, you can read about the test online. The test project was named "Have Slicker", I have use Zymoil(sp?) Megs, mothers, and a host of other products but I always go back to RacersEdge Polish, IMO its space age technology in a bottle. Application is easy on/off its very easy compared to say a carnuba based wax.

If you are looking for a relatively inexpensive wax then get Collinite. Decent looks, great beading and durable. 845 is the easiest to work with.
