This will be my 6th Cadillac, and also the newest I've owned. Another Copart find, so it's a prior salvage but the damage is so trivial it's surprising the insurance company called it. Oh well, their loss is my gain.

Anyway, details: 2007 Cadillac DTS Lux III with 65k miles on the clock. Has every option aside from adaptive cruise, which is a bummer but not a huge loss as I drive exclusively in the country.

She has the typical N* oil leaks, but they're minor and to be expected. Tires and brakes are in great shape, air suspension works and I haven't found a single non-functional item yet. The front sunroof drains were completely clogged, it took dropping the headliner a bit and physically disconnecting the drains to be able to adequately blow them out. Outside of those few items, it needs basically nothing but miles put on. Even had a recent Valvoline oil change!

Almost forgot - my winning bid was $975, out the door was $1,555 after fees. An excellent value in today's market.

Looking around a bit, you really did get a steal, especially for a low mileage car that presents well.
FWIU, the Northstar's head gasket problems were fixed for the 2007 MY, so that should be less of a concern.
This thing is pushing twenty years old and no twenty year old car is going to be perfect.

Not until it leaks, but if you keep the hollow bolt in the throttle body open, and the dexcool fresh, that likely won't happen either.

It shouldn't, the head bolts were upgraded for the 2004 model year, but I've never experienced a single HG issue on any of my N* cars, several of which were high miles. The coolant level was dead on on arrival and the engine runs rock solid at the 1/2 way point on the gauge.

If you look at the picture of the RR, on the wheel arch and the lower part of the rear door you'll see a ripple. The black hides it well, and it doesn't bother me one bit.

No flood listed on the Carfax, nor by Copart. It was listed as "side damage". There's zero indication that the clogged sunroof drains were ever an issue (luckily!).

From what I've seen, it was available throughout the run. The 2007 sales brochure I found listed it too.

I think GM did some changes to prevent head gasket failure. My 1998 popped but I believe a few years later they made it compatible with 87 octane. My 98' manual stated either 90 or 91 octane (I don't remember). IMO good deal & I'm a huge fan of Cadillac's as well, even though the N* blew on me I still think they were a revolutionary step up for engines of the era back in the early 1990's.
