Where are you seeing change in application instructions ? post on bitog was to make sure question about rinse oil and mileage answered (used as example engine under 100,000 miles) Please go to www.auto-rx.com and read application instructions for engines over 100,000 miles.By the way again rinse oil does not use Auto-Rx, you can use any non synthetic oil for this purpose.

Auto-Rx will work with all motor oils. In full synthetic oils (with ester, diester, triester bases) the cleaning takes longer. These application instructions take that into account. We have found that non-synthetic oils are superior for stopping or slowing seal leaks and have recommended that for the ‘rinse phase’ of the application. For the 'completion phase' run the non-synthetic oil by itself for one oil change interval, then use the brand of oil you prefer (synthetic, synthetic blend or non-synthetic).This completion phase is for stopping seal leaks only. High Mileage Oil's use synthetic esters and Auto-Rx has to fight for space on engine metal, this takes time and why not just go with non synthetic it's faster and so are results.

I am about ready for my second go around with auto-rx in my Toyota with 250,000 miles and I am very impressed with the product. I am not so impressed with the new instructions and think they go to far. Now we are expected to go 1500 miles on the first oil change 2000 miles on the rinse and change oil and 1000 miles for the next to last oil change and 2000-3000 miles on the last oil change. 4 changes in 6500-7500 miles is a bit much for me. Is Frank pushing oil for the oil companies at this point?
It looks like the instructions have been changed again since yesterday and the first oil change has been dropped.

He's right. The second application used to just say change the filter, and add ARX, but now it says change the oil and the filter and add ARX
That kind of sucks. I'm in the rinse cycle right now. I was looking forward to just a filter change in 2000 miles.
Maybe I'll just ignore the instructions. ARX doesn't seem to be having any effect on my engine anyhow.

Did you have synthetic power steering fluid in your unit when you tried to stop leak? Did you use 2 ounces of Auto-Rx?
What application of Auto-Rx did you use to get which result you wanted?

Well, a month ago, when I did it, there weren't any instructions for power steering application. So I added 2oz of Auto-Rx to my Power Steering reservoir. It's a 1987 Honda Accord, and I used Honda Power Steering fluid.
After 600 miles I drained the system, and refilled with Honda fluid, the leak was still there, so I added another 2oz of Auto-Rx. It's now about 1000 miles later, and the leak is still there.
I'm thinking of just leaving the Auto-Rx in, and not bothering to drain the system again. Leaving the Auto-Rx in there indefinetely won't cause any harm, correct?
My fluid doesn't ever go all the way empty...the fluid just leaks out somewhere until the reservoir is about half full, and then it just stays half full forever, but if I add more fluid, within about 30 minutes of driving, I'm back to half full.
check for a crack around the half way mark. Take the reservoir off. Also check to see if there is a leak around the return connectors.
It's not leaking from the reservoir, or the return connectors...at least not as far as I can tell. I think it leaks either at the rack or the speed sensor. Both those areas show some fluid.
Your right there were no power steering instructions when you first looked. Since you don't feel you have cracks or connector leak issues. Drain out Honda Power Steering Fluid and put in a good brand of non synthetic power steering fluid. (Honda's PS Fluid is still base synthetic ISO 68 with there version of a complex additive package ) add 2 ounces of Auto-Rx and drive 1000 miles (keep topping off if you get low with just non synthetic ps. fluid ) at 1000 miles leak will be almost or completely stopped as seal material will be refurbished. Drain unit and refill with non synthetic ps.fluid or go back to Honda fluid if you do this add 1 ounce of Auto-Rx to fill and leak will not start again
Sorry, I'm not using anything but Honda PS fluid...I've heard too many stories of various problems when people used non Honda fluid. I wouldn't be surprised if that's why it's got the problem it does, the last owner probably didn't use Honda PS fluid.
I guess I'll just live with the leak.
