Hyundai 3.5 V6 Engine Cold Start Knock Problems!

I have seen many NEW 2010 2011 3.5 v6 hyundai santa fe and kia sorrento engines with a cold start loud knock that Hyundai said is normal (its not normal no matter what Hyundai says) i have also seen one of the knockers that hyundai said was normal getting replaced at 7,933 miles... If Hyundai says its normal call your lemon law attorney's office they work free of charge to the consumer they will get you results in most cases...No Cost to you

Also who says a cold start knock isn't normal on this particular engine, who here is an engineer from Hyundai Motor Manufacturing?

OP owns an engine rebuilding shop, so he, probably, knows more about what an engine should sound like more than average BITOGEr.

PS I am looking at a new Kia or a Hyunday, but I am limiting myself to 4 cyl (fuel economy), but I'll keep the advice in mind.

problem is Hyundai pretends to act like the knock is normal
their 10 year 100,000 loophole warrantee is a joke...if the consuner is smart and sees a professional lemon law attorney theyare the ones laughing

What happened with yours from last year?

Just hit 28000 km on my 3.5. Changed the oil 3 times with Hyundai filters. I had a one second knock only once last spring, likely from a clogged lifter and that was the day after I had just started the car to move it in the garage.

i still have it still raps and knocks when cold or sitting over 2 hours... Hyundai says its normal. Its NOT!
I will Post videos of the knocking sound soon i am giving them one more chance and then i will plaster you tube with videos...
Wife is a Lawyer and im sure hyundai does not want this secret to come out...Most people dont know what to listen for and some of the 3.5 engines are quiet as a mouse..

My Kia started a morning knock when I changed the oil and filter to M1. My second oil change I used a RP filter with the same oil and the morning knock went away. Mobil 1 M1-104 and rp 2808 are identical except RP has a Full Synthetic media. My guess is it flows better and that's why the knock went away... look into your filter.
