My truck has a hydroboost power brake system. Since not only my power steering, but also my power brakes rely on this system, I want to change out the fluid more than recommended.
Is there anything special about changing fluid on hydroboost systems? Can I just disconnect the return line from the saginaw pump reservoir, pump out a quart and put a fresh quart in the reservoir?
Is there anything special I need to know about a hyroboost system? This truck is not new, but it's new to me. It takes the special GM power steering fluid. Interstingly, the saginaw pumps installed in fords and early GM's just use Dex III...but I guess that's another question.
