It's an area that's had me thinking for years.
I went to school, was moved when I was 4, then 5, moved states when I was 6, schools again at 7, house at 10, schools at 12, state at 13, school at 16, state at 19, region at 23.
Longest I've known anybody other than family is my partner of 15 years.
I work with 55 year olds who went to kindergarden together, and cannot understand their situation.
Having a single good friend (who is prepared to tell you to pull your head in from time to time) makes up for all of the quasi friends that you could accumulate in a lifetime.
