HPL Govt Fleet fluids

I'm not familiar with GSA procurement rules but specs like MIL-L-2104G aren't particularly rigorous. More like center cut for a good diesel engine oil.

i noticed there was an option for re-refined oils. seems like just good enough for government work. regardless with HPL putting their name on it, it’s probably still a cut above the rest that hold government contracts.

I kinda wish the re-refined term would go away, or there was better understanding of it. I think people hear it and immediately think 'inferior' when really it isn't any different than refining things from virgin crude or building them out of gas.

At the organizational maintenance shop for the Government vehicles, I saw drums of Mobil 1 Full Synthetic in various grades. After that shop was shut down and privatized, we had to take our gov vehicles to Midas, Firestone, Fast Lube, etc., and got conventional oil.
