Does your bike have an oil temperature gauge?
I would be curious if the higher viscosity results in higher oil temperature. If so it would only be slight since your bike recommends a 20/50 anyway. I think I would be more concerned if it was a bike that recommended a 10/40
Sad that Harley couldnt make the Buell line work. I really liked some of the bigger Buell's and actually the reason I started to walk in Harley dealerships what 18 years ago or something like that. I bet if they hung in there, being sport and sport tourers are the thing now they would have made a better go of it.
I still remember sitting on one with my just getting out of middle school daughter at the time (again approx 18 years ago) at a Long Island Harley Dealer and what started was a joke became reality when we moved south.
But it had to be a Suzuki first than VStar tourer and now the Road King. I think if they ever brought that bike back into production I would buy it in a flash.
BTW- spent over a decade (maybe 15 years now) at least once a year, running up to East TN and Western NC. LOVED the experiences on all three bikes over the time periods. Actually bought my last bike (2014 Harley Road King New) in Eastern TN we rode my VStar 1300 through Tail of the Dragon and then over to Maryville, saw it first at Maryville Harley but were staying in Gatlinburg.
Last day of our biking vacation up there, we rode to the Harley Dealer in Pigeon Forge in the POURING rain, left the VStar as a trade and rode out of the showroom still in the POURING rain back to Columbia SC (it was a crazy adventure and one my wife and I talk about sometimes still.
