I measured the tread depth on my rear tires (Nitto NT421) because I can't get much traction in the snow but really didn't need to since I noticed there almost down to the wear indicator. Anyway I measured the fronts (Cooper CS5 Touring) and I have 9/32's after 25K miles....which seems pretty good. I'm not sure what they were new. Thoughts

The CS5 has 11/32 when new.

What kind of car is it? FWD or RWD? Staggered setup or same size front and rear?

How many miles on the Nittos? Were the tires ever rotated?

RWD Suv with the same size tires. Not sure of the mileage on the Nitto's but they were never rotated.

My thoughts... you need new rear tires... and 9/32's after 25K sounds fine.

Same size as WHAT size?

If you had given us the tire size, we could at least look up the original tread depth, but nobody does THAT here on BITOG. See the current Cooper Evolution HT thread for validation of the keep'm guessing paradigm of sort-of requesting help.
