Ok - I give up after trying for 30 minutes! How do you guys post your actual pic of the Blackstone report??? I have tried cutting and pasting and everything else. I have a used oil analysis to post and want to paste a copy of the report like everyone else does. I gave up last time and typed it - but would like to just paste instead.

Anyhelp is appreciated as I am too frustrated now!

You should just copy someone elses typed out report and just edit your data in. That way, if the server that has your UOA image is shut down, or your account goes away ...the data is lost.

..but if you want to post the image:

Pull up the image on your screen, slide it so that your personal data is hidden from view. Hit "PRTSCN" (the first of the last three buttons on the top edge of your keyboard). That saves the screen image to the clipboard. Open MSPaint and hit "edit" and then choose "PASTE". Now crop the image, if needed, and then "SAVE AS" ..and choose a JPEG format. Now name it something you can remember ..and remember where you saved it. Then open an account at SonyImageStation or Photobucket or whatever. Upload that image ....then view that image ...right click it ...select "copy image location". Then, when you post. Hit the "IMAGE" button below the text box and then paste the URL into the popup field.

That's it, I think.

Let's start with - at what point along Gary's steps are you having problem? As you can see it's several steps to get a used oil analysis Report to display.

The first thing you have to remember is that this site doesn't allow you to upload pics, you have to upload them somehwere else, then link then to the thread.

For example, the pic from this used oil analysis thread is located on imageshack's server. Right click on the pic and select properties will reveal the link as http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/1525/hondaoil420062pj.jpg. That's probably where you are running into a snag.

Thanks for all the help. I was thinking that I had to link from somewhere else and really did not want to bother with all that. Guess I'll just type it in....one of these days...

That really does stink, however!

Nevermind - I figured it out

yay

What we need is topic called "used oil analysis Form" at the beginning of the used oil analysis forum. It would be a form set up like the Blackstone form and would list all the things tested for. You'd then fill in your vehicle, its total miles, miles on the oil, etc., insert after each item tested for the numbers that Blackstone or whatever test lab gave you, and at the bottom of the form there'd be a "Comments" section and under that word you'd type in any comments from the test lab.

Do you mean something where you filled in fields and it automatically just post it? That would be nice. The topic title would be automatically generated as the admins want it.

But a tape and paste template would work pretty good.
