how to know where wires go on cap

So in taking the cap and rotor back from my truck. And getting one that works (hopefully). Its a 92 Chevy 4.3 need to know where to hook up which wire where on the distributor cap. I have to take the cap off to return it and was curious. Thanks guys

At TDC on the compression stroke the rotor will be pointing at #1 on the cap. Then follow the firing order for the rest of the wires.

a 92 1500 with the z or w engine is 165432 with number 1 starting at the 5 oclock position moving clockwise. Which truck do you have? some s-10s might be different.

i found that my chrysler caps need to have the cap vent plugged, with J-B weld, to keep the moisture out.

92 1500 2wd sounds easy enough. Darn cap isn't that old but its already bad.
