Fram 3614 should work for you as well and they are available everywhere. These are longer and thus increase both oil capacity and cooling surface area. Not to mention that you open yourself up to more choices in terms of media. I've been running the Tough Guard 3614 on a Briggs V-Twin for eight seasons now. That's about 240 hours of run time in my case. Lately I've been running them for two seasons or 60 hours. I believe that a commercial operator could easily run these for 200 hours since they are rated for 15,000 miles in automotive applications. Fifteen thousand miles at an average 35 MPH comes out to well over 400 hours in an automotive application.

If you can fit it, the Fram PH3614 is a great size since it is only slightly bigger than the stock filter and gives you a lot more options with better pricing. The smaller filters listed in the post above like the PH8170 are the direct cross but often still fairly expensive. They seem to fit on most lawn mower engines without issue except for a select few with very tight engine compartments.

I run a fram synthetic endurance fe3800 pretty much has infinite dirt capacity as far as a lawnmower engine is concerned.
Only problem is it's like 5 inches tall so it likely doesn't fit every single lawnmower that a 798576 fits.
Also that briggs spec of oil filter calls for 30 micron filter rating. The fram synthetic endurance wipes out 80% to 90% of 15 micron particles.
That fe3800 was only around $12 at Walmart I bet that's within a few dollars of the Briggs and any of the alternatives.

on many Briggs, Kohler and Kawasaki a Fram 3614 or equivalent will fit.. this filter size is so comon it will even fit a Harley or Toyota.
