walking down the oil aisle the other day I ran across this M1 bottle @ the Front of the shelf, I didn't really pay much attention to oil before 2011, so not sure when that particular M1 bottle was in use. it's UPC is the same as the Current ver, so it still rings @ full price.

if it's 11 years old,...I hope they uncovered some long forgotten skid of the stuff buried in some dank dark corner at the DC, as this store was remodeled in 2006 or so, and @ the former home of motor oil was no where near where it is now. that would mean they moved a bottle that had already been on the shelf for 3 years, and it then sat another 8?

At Walmart they probably cannot mark it down without getting a manager involved and then you need to value your time with that.

At Sears I can discount items on my own, but there has to be a valid reason. Assuming its not a huge discount, no manager is needed.

Isn't this the full synthetic? I would pay extra for that!

Nope, the older Tri-Synthetic was when they replaced the primarily PAO with a mix of group III, AN, and PAO.

I used the pre Tri-Synthetic formula with great success in my Subaru. The car burned the Tri-Sytnthetic like I'd left the drain plug out.

nah i see them on the shelf dotted here and there every now and then. Usually in low volume large retail places. There are usually only 1 or 2 of any remaining UPC's that get pushed to the side for the new bottle.
