I am sweating bullets,,, this is my first real long interval oil change I did a used oil analysis on the Mobil 1 Extended Performance that is in my Toyota 3.4L V6 engine, it said it was ok for continued use at 5K miles. I changed the filter and topped it off. I am going to run it for 10-11K miles total and do a used oil analysis on it at the end. After I do the sample should I do a LC flush or dont worry about it? The truck will only have 37K+ miles on it at the 10K mark. I have pretty much fed it amsoil or Mobil 1 since 10K miles. Valvoline conventional for three changes before that. Can LC be bad for gaskets/seals if you do regular 10K mile flushes with it?

Based on what I have read here about LC, add it regularly in small amounts to fortify your oil against oxidation and as an aid to keep things clean internally. 1oz/quart of oil per 100 miles I believe. Changing the filter every few thousand miles during an extended drain interval sounds like a good idea and an inexpensive way to give an extra measure of protection IMO. With only 37,000 miles I can't imagine you need a "LC flush" as you say, your engine is probably really clean inside.

Don't let years and years of 3000 mile oil change programming scare you away from extending your drain intervals, relax, even good dino can go way more than 3000 miles. Unless you're planning to keep your vehicle for over 200,000 miles don't sweat it. For me, 10,000 miles between changes is about as far as I'm willing to go, but I don't do UOA. Most cars nowadays are going to fall apart before the engine fails due to a lubrication issue as long as reasonable maintenance is performed.

I've also found that all of this varies from vehicle to vehicle based on my own vehicles. Some engines seems to run a lot cleaner and tighter than others based on my dipstick observations.

You add 1 oz of LC20 every 1000 miles after the initial dose of 1oz per quart
