Walmart you can get this stuff for 1.96/quart. A 5qt just is 8.97 at Walmart. It's been priced like this for a long time.
Why is it that only the Mobil Clean 5000 is narly 75 cents cheaper per quart than all the other major brands. How and why?

They want you hooked on their oils and gas. They know your next step is to move up to their expensive M1 line.

Not in the cavalier I run it in. I get good UOAs, no reason to spend more especially after someone's comment that my UOA was better than his that has less miles on the OCI (same car/motor) and using M1

Total bunk! There is nothing stopping them from making even more profit than they already are. I know part of the price has to do with Walmart. But I guess my questions sort of ties in with that I'm a little curious about the quality of it.

I run Mobil Clean 5000 5W30 in my HHR. I like it. Its pretty much the same as what Chevy used for factory fill oil. At time my HHR was built, GM was getting its bulk oil from Exxon Mobil, the factory fill was likely equivalent to Exxon Superflo, Mobil Drive Clean, or Mobil Clean 5000.

I'm debating using this oil over Pennzoil dino. It seems like a sleeper oil.

it is dirt cheap really...so is super tech at 7.70 a jug...both are made ny mobil, at least in 5-30 and 10-30...i think they are very good oils and great value as they say at WM

I don!t remember the exact wording but it does mention something about not good for long periods of idling or a lot of idling. I don!t see that on the better oils.

If you read the label, that's to exclude the 5000 mile guarantee for those most severe conditions. Mobil Clean 5000 has 16% more detergents than is required to pass SM/GF-4.
