On your factory install bulbs, tail lights, turn signals, etc. Mine are 11 years old. The tail lights, 3rd brake light and front turn signals are factory installed.

I'm the original owner of a 1984 Honda and all the lights on the front are original. The tail lights for the brakes last about a year each.
Pretty sure all the tail lights on my 92 Accord are all original, except for the center stoplight. The front turn signals I believe are original too.
my 79 Cadillacs have all the original bulbs except for the side marker lights and licence plate lights and one or two dash lights
I've replaced 2 turn signal bulbs on the Jeep, the rest are original. Headlight bulbs made it 13 years for one, 14 for the other before failing.

I just sold an 04 Savana 3500 that had over 500k miles on it! One headlamp replacement only.
In our fleet trucks we very rarely replace bulbs anymore. I don't know what they did, but I like the longevity!

1988 E-150 all bulbs are original, every single one of them.
Most of the bulbs in both cars except headlight bulbs. I run higher-output headlights in both cars, so they need replacing more often. We do a decent bit of night driving, and want to see the critters.
Most of the lights on my '62 Buick are still original and working. Did replace the P-side brake lights 2 years ago.
Is it just me or do I see more late model cars with lights out, I assume burnt out bulbs?
Hello, I too have noticed more and more cars with burnt out bulbs and so have my friends. I simply attribute it to a diminution in observational skills and an overall reduction in brain power in so many of the people around us.

It's more like the "I just put gas in it and it goes" mentality has blossomed into a deeper, duller, stupider state.
I think it's taking hold everywhere. People have been losing their keenness for years. Nothing new here. Kira

After replacing a few burned out bulbs on my 89 Accord, I went ahead and purchased ALL the bulbs and replaced every one of them, including the small instrument cluster bulbs. I spent the extra money and bought long-life bulbs where available. For a few of them I had to go to the Honda dealer. But, for not much money I don't think I ever recall a burned out bulb after that. The only ones I replaced upon burnout only were the tiny rice bulbs that lit the climate control buttons and a few of the dashboard controls.
A little preventative maintenance goes a long way.
And, Kira, I agree with you. If canceling a turn signal after a lane change is too much trouble, I can't imagine anyone actually checking their lights periodically. You're only supposed to hold down the stupid lever for a lane change. These phone-talking morons click the thing down and then drive for miles with the signal on. I see this every day now. It used to be a rarity. In today's world ADD is an asset, I think.
