MC Syn-Blend 5w30 seems like one of the best values out there, so I am thinking of picking up some more of it... but how long can this oil run??

I usually run conventional oils (YB or M-Clean5000) for 5,000 miles (maybe 6000), or I run Mobil 1 0w40 or GC 0W30 for 10k miles, or I may run Rotella T Synthetic 5w40 for up to 15k.

I guess a good run for MC would be good for 8000 miles?? yes? no??
input please? =)

I think it's good for 7,500 - 10k in most engines.

I am thinking of switching both cars to MC.

+1 on the interval 7500-10k depnding on service and sump capacity

Does anyone know how much abuse it can take?? and also the 40C and 100C cSt viscosity numbers???

I would never put conventional oil in my SpecV because it gets driven extremelly aggresively, it sees autocross, track duty, drag duty, some off-road, and gets redlined a few times a day... so I run GC 0W30 at ~5k mile intervals (I kill the oil

But if MC 5w30 seems like a tough oil, I could run it for ~3.5k miles

Depends on the car. I ran Petro-Canada 5w30, which is actually a group II/II blend, even though its marketed as conventional for 8881 miles, and it was shot.

BUT, we've seen used oil analysis of this oil for 10k in a Honda and Toyota, and it was just fine both times - nearly done, but it made it 10k.

Anything past 7500, I'd say UOA and check before doing it regularly.

I am not an oil tester, preferring to use the money to change the oil.
But if you are going to go past 5,000 or so, get it tested to see if your engine likes it.
