And how long do you plan to keep it? What's the mileage?

I've had my wife's 01 Caddy Deville DHS for almost three years. It has 90,000 mi and is still going strong.

I've had my 01 Jaguar S-type 4.0L for about 2 years it has 82,000 miles and still trouble free.

I LOVE both of these cars and while the newer cars coming out are really nice, I will probably keep both of these for at least 5 more years. Especially since they are paid for. I'm exactly what Detroit doesn't want to see.

Had my 95 Tercel for 'bout 5 years. Was in the family since new. 335,000 km. Rebuilt motor at 270k due to burning and leaking oil from every orifice. When I got it, I found NO oil to be seen on the dipstick. I blame the leaking oil and lack of refilling for the later oil burning.

As useless as it is for carrying passengers or hauling cargo, as well as its almost non-existent torque, it is still a BLAST to drive this little thing. I'll keep it until it either needs a huge repair that I can't do at home, or gets smashed by one of the many idiots on the road.

She's needed a few repairs, but never ONCE has this car stranded me or failed to start.

97 Avalon, owned by me since new...147k miles and change and still going...although half the car is new/rebuilt already! Hoping to get at least 200k out of it before I give her up.

'94 Lexus LS400 with more than 210k miles, may keep another 3-4 years.
'00 Mercedes E430 with more than 100k miles, don't plan to replace it anytime soon.

'04 Honda S200 with less than 30k miles, may keep forever.

My Audi will become a teenager in August. 180k miles young. I plan on keeping that car until it becomes unreliable and costly.

1956 Ford Crown Victoria - 78,000 original miles - Belonged to my Dad - Keep until dead.

2005 Honda Element - 68,000 miles - Son drives while in college - Will give him title upon graduation.

2006 Honda Element - 28,000 miles - Wife's car - She will not give it up.

2004 Jeep Wrangler - 10,120 miles - It's mine - Will sell it next year to purchase a new Ford diesel pick-up.

I got the GN for $3,600 when I was 17 in 1994 so 15 years or so and I plan to keep it until I die.

TL bought new in Dec of '05 as an '06 model (my first new car) so just over 3 years. 71,000 miles but no more commuting so at the current average, it won't hit 100,000 for quite some time. Never a single problem. Just put gas and do maintenence. I couldn't be happier. Now that it's older, I'm going crazy with the stereo and now have Koni Yellows, a larger rear sway bar and getting the factory a-spec springs. Otherwise bone stock.

2002 Nissan Maxima

I bought it new in October 2001, currently it has 78K miles on the clock. I'd thought about replacing it (just to get something new) but the car is just too reliable and solid. No squeaks or rattles...I'll probably keep it until it's dead.

My car? Boy I feel poor with what I see the rest of you'al driveing.

1997 Geo Metro--185,000 miles--uses 1 quart every 5,000, needed at oil change--major maintence: replaced both axles, & new exhaust system, & timing belt. Engine never touched. Long been paid for.

Knock on wood hope it stays that way.

Had a '99 Subaru Forester which I bought new in '98, had it until I wrecked it a little less then a year ago with about 94k miles on it, but I had zero intentions of getting rid of that car. Used whatever bulk oil the shop would put in it.

After shopping around and comparing all the vehicles in its class, I ended up buying an '09 Subaru Forester a few months ago. Factory fill was replaced with bulk oil from the dealer around 1250 miles (first oil change was free), and I plan on replacing it with Havoline at around the 4k mile mark. I don't plan on getting rid of this car, maybe one day down grading it to a secondary vehicle, cause like my previous Forester it's too practical to just get rid of

1973 Nova Custom. 165,000 miles. Parents bought it new in '72. Will keep it to the end.
1983 C10. 221,900 miles. 19years. Until it rots away.
1989 Grand Marquis. 163,000 miles. 10 years. Until it rots away. At its current rate, that'll be a couple decades at least.

Alex.

2004 F-150 bought used in 2005 65k miles
2002 Protege5 bought new in 2001 140k miles

both are excellent and trouble free. Both still still look new and has been parked outside near the ocean most of their life.

I don't blame you. I never see a TT 300Z anymore. I have a co-worker with a NA model and it still stands out today, I think that bodystyle will always be a classic. Besides, won't they handle over 500hp on stock internals?

I'm an enormous fan of the Z32 myself.. I'm really Nissan through and through. I love em!

My current car though? 1997 Saturn SL1.. 207k kms. Gonna keep it til it doesnt go anymore. It's a residual car leftover from going back to school. Paid $800 for it 1.5 years ago :) What will my next ideal car be? probably an 02/03 Maxima SE 6sp.

I've had my '00 GTI since 11/03. It has 134k relatively trouble-free miles on it. I'll drive it until....

My wife has had her '04 Mercedes ML350 since 07/07. It has 70k miles on it. It's the most reliable vehicle we've ever owned, so far.

'03 Ranger, bought new, six years old, 74k miles
Plan on keeping for 30 years or 300,000 whichever comes first.

Reality will probably dictate I will keep it until there is a repair with a cost that just can't be justified. I figure I will need a transmission overhaul to get me to 300k. AZ weather should let the body and frame make the 30 years.

1990 Toyota 4Runner - 20 years - 54,000 miles on it. Used as a demo model at a dealership in 1989, dad bought in 1990. It's now passed on to my brother. It's a real head turner compared to the rusted 4Runners out there. Weekend driver, but my bro plans to use it as a daily driver.
