I'd love to see the Sabres win a Cup. They came close in '75 against Philly, and in my opinion were robbed in '99 when Brett Hull scored the illegal goal.
I'm glad to see Stu Skinner playing well for the Pens. I think the trade will work out well for Pittsburgh.
After a terrible 12-game stretch that dropped them into last place in the league, the Jets have won four in a row.
Local boy Jonathan Toews, who looked washed-up earlier in the season, has now scored four goals in the last four games and is +2 over that stretch.

I was, big-time, back in the day. I was a huge Tony Esposito fan, thus my #35 BITOG name.
Our Winnipeg Jets, along with three other WHA teams (the Oilers, Whalers, and Nordiques), entered the NHL in 1979. Even then I tended to root for the Hawks over the home team.
I was pleased with the Hawks' near-dynasty of a few years ago, with Cup wins in 2010, '13, and '15.
My wife and I were in Chicago in October 2001 and went to a game.
I'm thrilled that the Flyers dispatched the despised Penguins with an overtime shutout, sending Sidney Crosby into the sunset after a Hall of Fame career.

The Sabres were up 3-1 entering Game 5, but the Bruins won it in OT with Pasta doing his usual and lounging around the Sabres blue line until he got fed a pass and beat Lyon for the 2-1 win. Sabres and Bruins play Game 6 in Boston tomorrow (5/1).
On a side note, as a native WNYer, I was proud to see Sabres fans sing the Canadian national anthem when the anthem singer's mic had multiple drop-outs:

The Pirates are are also a lost cause. Have been that way for a very long time now. Aparently, the people who make decisions for how the team is ran, have decided that assembling and keeping a group of players that really have a shot at winning the pennent is not financially in the best interest of the owners. And it's likley to stay that way until those who run the league change the way profits are distributed.
The Steelers management seem focused on winning another Super Bowl. They always have been that way as long as I can rember. It's soooooo written in stone that no one around hear gives it a second thought. Now that's a way to run a football team. Pirates management could learn from that.
