How do we change or add an avatar?

Pretty much what the subject states. I cannot find any where to edit my profile to add an avatar. Is this possible? Thank you.

A select few have them, but don't ask me how that lottery is drawn.

You need to contribute money to the site or be a war vet to get an avatar.

I think maybe they are for moderators, members who are employed in the oil industry, site sponsors, and a few other select few, such as honorary members.

Part of the reason, I think they don't open up the avitar thing is they would have to police it for inappropriate images as occur on so many other web boards.

The only people that can add or change avatars are ekpolk, wwillson or me. I give avatars to veterans, retired and active duty military. Members that contribute money to BITOG also get avatars. Tall Paul is correct as to who can get avatars and the reason behind some of the special avatars.
