How do I get duct tape residue off of paint?

My Cherokee has some duct tape residue where the former owner held on a broken light in the front. I have replaced the light...now I need to get rid of the glue from the tape. How should I do it?

Kerosene or WD40. Rewax afterwards. Don't use alcohols, brake or carb cleaners.

I sometimes have luck with waterless hand cleaner because it doesn't evaporate quickly. You put it on and leave it for a half hour or so and then try it. May take multiple applications. WD40 does well as a cleaner too. Good luck.

My favorite is "Bug Off" tar and bug remover. That stuff has solvents that dissolve stuff like tar and adhesives. It also has wax built into it. Since it's intended for painted auto surfaces, it's safe.
