Greetings Oil Men. Looking to pick up a new AGV motorbike helmet. Every online supplier wants $600 except Champion Helmets that wants $350 + $50 shipping, so $400 total.

How can these guys sell for so much cheaper? Have read numerous online "great service" and "great experience" reviews and numerous "run the other direction" reviews.

This just sounds too good to be true. Any experiences out there?

Thanks.
Nibanna

No experience from Champion Helmets, other than watching their YouTube videos. That said, I have had great experience with both motostorm.it .. https://www.motostorm.it/en/full-face-helmets/sub-fiber/agv.html and MotardInn .. https://www.tradeinn.com/motardinn/...&fe=&pf=id_subfamilia=16343@marca=304&start=0
Motostorm is a bit faster shipping, but have gotten great prices for both. You will not get DOT certification or any factory warranty by buying in Europe. You will get ECE 22.06 and a actual product/no knock off. I also never had to pay any extra import fees.

Motorcycle gear is inflated in the US. Those Euro prices are legit. Some Euro shops won’t sell and ship helmets to the US if they only meet ECE regulations. Most of the AGV models meet ECE and DOT. I could’ve saved $200 on my Shoei RF1400 if I bought it from Europe, but Shoei makes a DOT only helmet for the US and they restrict people from buying the ECE version from other parts of the world.

I routinely buy from Chrome Burner and in the EU. Like @Finklejag stated, most of the time prices are inflated here. Depends though, Alpinestar gear is much cheaper in the US than in Europe go figure.

Champion Helmets is local to me in California though I have never purchased from them admittedly.

Get a helmet that fits best, Shoei and Arai are very high end but they fit quite differently, helmet needs to be certified as well to ensure it meets safety standards, no need to go for a fancy and expensive helmet that doesn't fit too well.

There are three Arai helmet shapes: Round oval, Intermediate oval, and Long oval. Then there are different thickness liners, which are also adjustable, to fine-tune the fit. In the Arai lineup, the Intermediate oval shell shape with the standard liners, fits me perfectly. The Round oval, and Long oval shapes don't fit. So know that you need to try on all three helmet shapes to know if an Arai helmet will fit or not.
