I was really wondering, since the clean phase uses full strength, the rinse phase you do not add anything.

What would happen if I added 3 oz in the rinse phase to help it clean even more during the 2000 miles?

I can;t see it doing anything bad.

I may be going out on a limb here, but I think Frank wants people to follow the instructions. Pretty sure I've heard him say that.

If you really want to use up some leftover ARX, either use it as a maintenance dose after the rinse phase, or throw it in the tranny or PS fluid.

bricheun,

Follow the instructions Frank has formulated Auto-Rx for milage and sludge when the instructions are followed you will get results good luck.

The point of the rinse phase is NOT to have any polar esters in the oil to keep it fron sticking to the metal with all the junk dissoloved. Clean/Rinse/Maintenance

I am 800 miles into the rinse phase with dino.

It was smoking on acceleration , deceleration etc but none on morning starts.

I thought it was the cheapo dino, so i changed it to valvoline All fleet dino.

It was better, but the smoking has again returned, becoming unpleasant to drive because it spews out so much smoke. Not good for image and other drivers.

If this smoking does not clear up in 1200 miles, then I am putting the engine for full rebuild. Auto-rx then did not help me..

I have another 2 bottles untouched.

I thought for oil burning you need to cycles

clean rinse then clean again rinse again?? If you have more rx make sure you do the second cycle before you give up.

1100 miles into rinsing phase and still smoking on overrun. I can smell the oil burning when slowing down in 5th gear from 50mph to a stop to pay for the road toll.
When I pull off I can see a hint of blue/grey smoke.

When driving though i cannot see a trail of smoke even on WOT driving uphill.

Check your pcv system and valve. Replace if it hasn't ever been replaced.

Def oil..the oil is going down without leaks and the smell is burning oil.

Gets worse at higher temps, especially after a hard drive, there's puffs of smoke on initially accerlation lasting maybe 2-3 seconds. Gets really bad when i slow down using the gears from 4500rpm-->1000rpm ( 45 seconds) then step on the gas again.

Using around 1/4 in 400 miles.

The 2nd cleaning phase completed and half way through the 2nd rinse phase. I have put on alot of miles in these several weeks.

The smoking has gotten bad and the stench of burning oil when stopped entering the cockpit is getting on my nerves, and for the drivers behind me. It has gotten from slight to very bad after the ArX treatment. Maybe it has unstuck some rings allowing the oil to burn or something has broken. I have taken it into the garage to take the engine apart for an analysis.

Engine wear? Worn rings? Cylinders? Valve seals? I will have to wait till next week...
Considering the valve seals are only 8000-9000miles new, I doubt it.

It did not work for me this time unlike so many folks here.

The symptoms of blowing smoke during decleration still would point to crankcase ventilation. Pollution control devices.Sounds to me that the motor is sucking oil during decleration. Perhaps your repairs won't be as bad as you think.

On this engine there is only 1 PCV valve from the crank to the inlet manifold. I have changed this prior to taking the ARX regime.

Even if I disconnected the PCV hose so that it does not suck oil the engine still does this. The ARX has cleaned up something which is probably making the oil control rings looser, it was probably gummed up before and now what's sealing is now dislodged.

Next week the garage is going to give me full diagnosis, I'll take some photos of the engine then to see what 2 rounds of ARX has done.

Boy, I just ordered 5 bottles of Auto-Rx...I have a nissan truck with 107k and a minivan with 212k.....I hope I don't have a problem like this....
I guess I'll go with the odds....it seems that more here have good reports then bad....can't wait to try it.
