Hope I got the right oil filter

I picked up 10 qts of RP and 2 RP oil filters for $86.xx. I got the 20-400 filters. They measured up to the fl 400s in size. It calls for that filter for the 2.0 SOHC Escort, I have the DOHC. Will these work on my zx2 2.0 DOHC?

Is it a 1999? From what I can tell, the DOHC uses the same filter as the SOHC, except that the bypass valve PSI rating for the DOHC is 16, rather than roughly half that for the SOHC. That could be important. So... I'd check with RP on that to make sure.

Yes it is a 99'. The bypass valve setting are the same as the Fl400s that is now spec'ed for the car where as the FL 2005 was the previous filter.

I was looking at what Wix had listed. Look at the specs for the 51315 (for the DOHC), and the 51516 (for the SOHC), and they differ.

It seems nobody can give me a straight answer then. Ford says NO FL 2005 filters left and the FL 400 IS IN FACT its replacement. I'm NOT happy as the design of the 400s is a [censored] one than the 2005.
Just last week I posted asking about the 400S being used on the car and was told. " Use it. It will be fine" by 2 different members here. Was I lied to??????

If Ford says it, I believe it. Here are what seem to be the specs for the FL-2005 and FL-400S filters:

The bypass (RVOP) PSI ratings of the 400/2005 overlap. The RP 20-400 is probably correct... I'd verify with RP just to be sure.

Go with the RP, You will be fine and you will have a better filter. Do not lose any sleep my friend. You have a good combo right there.
