The dealer gave me Ariens 5w30 instead of Honda brand for my HS928 Honda snowblower. Any reason to swap it out for the Honda oil or just as good? Thanks!

I have that same blower for the past 12yrs, and have used whatever 5W30 oil I have around at the time.

Now, the Hydrostatic Transmission Fluid…I would stick with Honda fluid for that.

Yup, this^^^, I have 3, an HS 6-24, an HSS-928, and an HSS-1332, 5-30 for all, but 10w-30 is fine also unless your starting under 15 degrees' Next time just use automotive oil.

Hydrostatic Transmission Fluid, yes, Honda fluid only. Buy some extra shear bolts as an insurance policy.
