Honda Prologue - the Better Blazer EV

They're finally spending on the advertising budget, at least around me 🤷‍♂️

Historically, Honda cross breeds don't do terribly well
The OG Passport/SLX comes to mind 🙄
I watched a poor Honda dealer tech get run through the ringer on a wiring issue, looks like Eric & Ivan are gonna be in yacht money by the time they retire 😤

I know something's up, they're leasing at very competitive prices
Honda doesn't usually do that 🤔
For a '24 EX, that's not a bad payment at all
If you've got somewhere to charge, it might be more cost effective than a Civic 🤷‍♂️

I see a lot of ads in Chicago when I’m there for business. I’ve never seen a billboard anywhere else in my travels.

Besides Consumer reports, Are we going to deny this data too? or only believe what you posted from a writer who uses snowflakes to make a claim?
https://www.jdpower.com/business/pr...ectric-vehicle-experience-evx-ownership-study

I mean use data to back your claims, not stories written by writers who on their own website say "the score value is irrelevant" you call this data? No, it's not.
I presented two respected sources. The only ones that knock actual surveys are the ones who can not counter with something factual.
Present the data one what you claim is "limited" by consumer reports or PD powers to your own data.
Ha the Mach-E scored higher than both the Model 3 and Model Y

What did they do, poll the 5 people that bought Mach-Es? 😂

I'm just screwing around of course, but Ford did a lot of stop sales from various issues. The later ones seem to have fixed the issues and I do much prefer the interior of the Mach-E. We liked what we saw of the Mach-E but just like VW they couldn't get a car for us 2 years ago. Tesla ended up being the default. It wasn't on our initial purchase list and we started out looking for EVs. We even looked into the dreaded Toyota BZ4X(or whatever it's called) and they couldn't even get us a tester. Ford wouldn't let us drive the Mach-E because the only car on the lot was pre sold and they weren't taking orders at the time. Initially the Mach-E was what my wife wanted.

It's a much different landscape now and that's definitely reflected in the availability of these cars. If any of those were available at the time we wouldn't have had a Tesla, but after owning it this long we're not interested in the other options.

I've just had enough of crossovers and my wife finally realized how much better the driving experience feels in an actual car. How many variations of lifted hatchbacks do we need? Ford could make a killer performance EV car. The bones of it are already in the Mach-E and a good start. Price kills many of them.

I know what you mean, my parents waited 6 or 7 months for their ID.4 in 2022.

And the early Mach-E software had a lot of issues as you state. I'm wary of any first year EVs, there are some used ID.4s for less than $20K around, but, I just don't want the trouble. The 21 Mach-Es have not fallen as far but I've seen low mileage examples in the $24K range. With a used Mach-E, I would for sure buy the stuff to do FDRS at home, you can get access to Ford's software updates the same as a dealer for 2 days for $50. Not sure if VW has the same.

There's a lot to be said for having any computer/scanner access for a modern vehicle to have an easier time updating and troubleshooting stuff at home. Is FDRS what people refer to as FORScan, or is it a new one in it's place? I have an Integrating Engineering tuner and OBDeleven for my GTI to cover all settings and tuning for it. I like that level of access. I don't know how much OBDeleven does on the ID.4 though. I do not get that with Tesla. I'm stuck waiting for updates when it becomes available to my car and they release it in waves. I know I can't get parts for my Tesla to swap in my driveway either like I can with Ford or VW if break a grill or trim piece, which I seem to be very good at doing historically driving at 3am for work and raccoons no longer wishing to live. 😂

Ford is coming into their own with EVs. They may win me back in a couple of years. I just don't want a crossover and really don't need a truck. I've heard Jim Farley talk a lot about bringing cars back with EV models and I'm looking forward to what that may bring.

Honda sold 5,401 Prologues in the USA in August, which is a big number. Outsold EV6, EV9 and IONIQ 5. And likely Mach-e, ID.4 and bZ4x.

I’d guess by the end of the year Model 3, Model Y, Equinox EV, Blazer EV and Prologue will be the top 5 selling EVs in the USA.

it’s certainly a nice looking car, you might be getting ahead of yourself with one month worth of figures. Time will tell.

Seen a few Prologue on the road and parking lots, it really doesn't do anything for me looks-wise. The Blazer EV, OTOH, looks sharp.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I’m thinking that’s how the totals will go for Q4 2024 and then into 2025, not for full year 2024.

Yeah, we shall see. Prologue sold really well in July though too. I think there’s a huge glut of Honda loyalists that want EVs. I bet most consumers don’t know or care it’s actually a GM. I

Agree, I like a lot of EV models, but I’m not good with the price of them

Every time I see a Prologue on the road or in a parking lot I want it even more :( maybe next year or two I can afford one!
