Honda HRX217 mower: removing rear height adjuster

I have a 2008 Honda HRX217 mower. The rear height adjustment lever is bent and I want to replace it. I have disassembled everything down to the height adjustment bar which is pushed onto a axle type fixture. I cannot figure out how to remove the adjustment bar to replace the lever.

Thanks, found the issue I was having. There was a spring washer on the inside of the housing that I failed to see/remove.
