The number of affected vehicles totals about 22,000 for three different issues. Toyota has recalled over 5,000,000 vehicles for ONE problem. Honda now 650,000.

Repost of my post edit.

Oh and only recall I saw for the 2009 F-150 was a brake light recall, on less than 9,000 vehicles. 1370 Expeditions recalled for the same thing. only recall for the F-250 was a heater element that also affected a number of toyota, general motors, dodge, and honda vehicles. No recalls on the F-350.

11,000 Ford rangers recalled for defects in manufacturing for the front axle spindles because they may fail in the normal lifetime of the car. Replaced free of charge. Yep that certainly compares to the number of vehicles toyota, honda and even chrysler have recalled.

YES THERE WER FRAKKIN RECALLS. Every automaker has recalls. Your beloved and perfect honda's, and toyotas. This is what I think. This toyota thing has probably made people realize that Japanese cars are not the pinnacle of quality and engineering, and are going to start heading back to domestic makes, and are going to be suitably impressed.

Oh please, like you are perfectly fair and unbiased yourself. It is pretty evident from your posts that you are clearly biased towards domestic cars and have a tendency to not criticize cars in an objective manner.

Hang on a second now. I have never said that Foreign cars are bad. I've said I won't buy them, and I wouldn't recommend others buy them. That is because I feel we should support domestic companies. If something is good, it is good. But that doesn't mean I would buy it. However, if american cars WERE completely horrible and worse than foreign ones, I probably would feel differently. But they aren't. Am I biased toward american cars? Yes I am. Do I go around saying toyotas, hondas, hyundais are awful and falling apart and other derogatory things about them? No. Though now if I wanted to I could, I just have to point toward this toyota recall to say, "See? Japanese cars are not better than american cars. They aren't the best quality".

Japanese car companies that make cars in mexico, canada? Alot of their cars are still made in Japan, too.

The companies are headquartered in the United States. They may make some cars in mexico, canada too. But the profits go back to the head company HERE. Toyota may pay property tax, but I am fairly sure they do not pay corporate income tax. Ford, GM, and chrysler do. Not to mention, I like to have some pride in my country, in the knowledge that we can design and build quality cars, just as good as Japan and Germany.

So was my Cavalier. Car assembled at the Lordstown Assembly Plant, Lordstown Ohio. Engine was made in the GM Tonawanda Engine Plant in Tonawanda New York, and the transmission made at the Willow Run Transmission Plant, in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Oh, yup. Took a few google searches but I found it. Ok Toyota pays income tax to the IRS, my bad. Doesn't change the fact that ultimately, profits go to the Toyota headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. That is why GM selling cars in China is good for GM US, because the profits come back home.

That is a very lame argument. These companies are publicly traded. See where I'm going with this? In addition, I would rather the US employees on the line (asssembly plant & suppliers) benefit directly from my money. I am of the opinion that tax money doesn't really do much good for the economy but rather brings it down - negative multiplier anyone?
