I have a Honda Element and was thinking about changing the rear diff oil. Honda says to use Honda Dual Pump Fluid, "do not use ATF". What the heck is Dual Pump Fluid?

I also assume the front diff runs off of the ATF that goes in the automatic transmission. Is that correct?

Thanks for any help.

Forget about the above post. I should of practiced what I preach and done a search. Found the answers to my question by just doing a search.

Fred: I think the VTM fluid goes in the trans of the hybrid Civic. The Dual Pump Fluid goes in the rear diffs of the Element and CR-V.

Bro: Thanks for your support.

I have been informed that the VTM fluid goes in the diffs of the Honda Pilot. All Honda automatic transmissions take the Honda ATF Z-1. The Dual Pump Fluid goes where I said above.

How do you like your Element?? My wife will get a new 4 door 06' Civic or Element at the end of the year. Is the Element noisy at highway speeds (70-80 MPH)?
