I lean this way too. Although it doesn't bother me if someone else wants to ride an automatic bike,that's completely their decision and if an automatic transmission makes some riders feel more confident and safer then by all means have at er.
I can't say as I understand the comments above about planning shift sequences or freeing up one side of the brain or whatever that means. I've never really thought about it. I'm always in a gear that has launch capabilities at full throttle if I need to get out of a cages way,so I don't get where that's coming from.
An automatic motorcycle isn't for me but if someone out there likes it,and it gets them in the wind then live and let live.
