My civic doesn’t start in the cold, my battery is new and I don’t have a lot of experience with car. When I put my keys inside to start it the light on the dashboard lit up but when I turn it to really start it nothing happens like literally no sound nothing.

If you don't hear a click it's likely the solenoid itself. Of course there's a relay and wiring going to that but you can try to start it by having the key in accessory and manually jumping the starter first then the solenoid to see if that works. If the solenoid does work then bad news the issue is somewhere else in that chain link and you need to continuity check from the solenoid wire to the relay on the fuse box. If it started normally like always the day before then the starter should be fine. I've replaced only the solenoid and used the original starter to almost 400k in a ranger. Don't be afraid to take the wheel and the liner off. Makes it much easier and takes no time. I used two or three joint adapters and socket extensions on my gmc's starter.

If you want something easy for now find the starter relay and swap it with something else if there's an identical one used for something else. I haven't personally had the relay fail on me but it happens i've had other relays fail.

What year?
Turn the headlights on while you try to start. If the headlights go out you're losing power for the whole car, that is probably a bad battery or bad connections at the battery.

How cold are we talking? How old is the car? Mileage? Most likely you are dealing with a battery, alternator, starter, solenoid, cables, look for dirty or loose connections, solenoid or maybe a fuse. If you can read a multimeter in voltage, you are ten minutes away from your answer. If you read the preceding post, you might be 15 seconds away from the answer. Civics of all vintages are simple in this regard, and in my experience, very few require new starters ever. I have owned several over the years and replaced one alternator and zero starters.

It’s a 2012, -20 Celsius, 220000 km and a new battery from 2 weeks ago
