Changing the strainer on a Honda automatic requires disassembly. From what I understand your transmission would have to be damaged for the strainer to become clogged. Honda puts a magnet in the transmission case to catch ferric particles, the rest of the wear particles (mistly fine clutch dust) comes out at a fluid change.quote:

There was a large head drain plug screwed directly into a threaded hole in one of the cast aluminum case halves (passenger side).
