Honda ATF ?

Changing the strainer on a Honda automatic requires disassembly. From what I understand your transmission would have to be damaged for the strainer to become clogged. Honda puts a magnet in the transmission case to catch ferric particles, the rest of the wear particles (mistly fine clutch dust) comes out at a fluid change.
 
he is right...when the filter gets clogged "screen" the car would feel as though the torque converter is going bad...shifts jumping and so on. i forgot how people fixed it, usually they would just flush it out or something (something i wouldnt do on our old accords...the seals are to fraille..)

according to our older model accords that require dextron II/III is completly compadable with the new ATF z1. but its pricy...i just did a transmission change on my car which was origionally running dextron III valvaline. i put in some new dextron III valvaline and its shifting very smooth now. i bet the life wont last as long as honda Z1 but its good for now. i was going to use ATF z1 but i had a problem with my car in that i couldnt take out the bolt...so ill wait for summer to change the fluid again.

honda should have a 5 gallon bottle of ATF..personally i think it shifts better. on my friends bad shifting gsr we put in honda and really that thing shifted like a charm...ill do it, when i get the money =)

btw i have a 91 accord, auto.
