Hey guys, this is my very first post so bear with me....I got my first oil analysis done (through blackstone labs) and it came back and i had some questions...here are the numbers
METAL.....MY NUMBERS AT 2,217 MILES.....BLACKSTONE AVERAGE AFTER 6,800 MILES
ALUMINUM.....4.......3
CHROMIUM.....0.....0
IRON.....3.....9
COPPER.....2.....3
LEAD.....0.....1
TIN.....1.....1
Fuel water 0
antifreeze 0
insolubles 0.2 (supposed to be less than 0.6
KEEP IN MIND MY OIL WAS CHANGED AT 2,217 miles, i do it so early because i drive short trips all the time! 3.5 miles or less 5 times a day at least. and all of these are cold start drives. I use castrol 5w20 syntec (or whatever the new name for syntec is). Im concerned because my numbers are already as high (or almost as high) as the average at 6,800 miles, but my cars oil is only at 2,217! i called blackstone and they said that they would all stay the same except for iron which would creep up with more mileage put on. Sorry again as this is my first post and first UOA. Im new to it all. You all seem like VERY knowledgeable people, so please help me! is my car doing ok? (2006 honda accord 2.4)Also why is aluminum higher, is it bad that mine is a 4 and not 3 or less? Oh, and one more thing. i let my car sit for 15-30 seconds after starting to get the oil flowing before driving off (trying to help cold start wear)...(im concerned about bearing wear with all the cold starts!) and piston wear too)...how long should my car last with this driving style? already has 110,000 miles, i keep up with the maintenance on her =) love my 7th gen accord
