Honda 1.5T Valvetrain Pictures at 133K.

I'd bet that I've seen 5-6 quarts shoot out like a fire hose, several times on drain.
It was hard to guess where to position the drain bucket at times.
The initial complaints were "fuel smell" in the garage. So imagine how much dilution that would take.
Back when we had out 19 CRV with the same engine. At 20K I measured about 1.5 qrts of additional fluid during an oil change. Yes it smelled like fuel. I followed the olm which was about 7500 miles. No noises of any kind. Luckily the wife wanted a Pilot so she traded it in.

This particular unit has never "generated" a measurable amount of oil. I did flash the PCM with the updated calibration around 30K and the injector set was replaced at 112K due to a failure.

There are two possibilities indicated to me.
First, fuel dilution is not quite as destructive as I've always believed.
Or, (and?) this engine is well built. To be able to withstand that much dilution with few failures.

I would have definitely gone to a 30W oil for sure if we kept it.

I am still boggled by the fuel dilution. GREATER THAN 5%?!?!. Holy. Wife never had more than 1%. Same 2017 CRV Touring around 120K miles I believe.

Amsoil 0W-30, Premium every tank. It must be our longer drives. But I have been doing 12 month OCI regardless of miles for the last 3 years+ (since we moved)

Valve adjustment ours looked similar, people are just seeing oil I think..........

Yes I will do a UOA this time even if I change oil a bit early (not a full year).

New plugs at the same time the valves checked, seems like MPG went up a tad according to wife unit.

How much did the valves need adjusting?
Do you mind sharing what your yearly mileage is like?

A close up seems all is well.
