Hello, I has ea 2011 cr-v and I want to use only Honda oils. So here is my question. Honda uses 0w20, there bulk is Petro Canada and there bottle i'mnot to sure of because every forum I've read here says its either idemitsu or cp. I know for my motorcycle there 10w40 is still idemistu. Is it worth the extra $40 for the bottle oil whether it's idemistu or not or just go with the bulk. I change the oil twice during the 100% once at 50 then agian when the mm gets to 15. Thanks for your help.

Curious, why do you want to use only Honda-branded oil? There are plenty of equally good (if not better) choices that are less expensive and more readily available.

Just confused. I want just one of the best. People say the oil with high moly is good. Honda oil has high moly am I right? What do you think is the best oil?

Oh boy! That question really can't be answered. There are so many variables and personal preferences (and biases) also come into play.

You might want to take a look at the "What oil should I use? What is the BEST oil?" thread first. Provide some details and the good folks here will be more than happy to share their thoughts and experience.

If you're looking for a 0W20 for your CR-V, and you're in Canada, I think the Toyota 0W20 is your best option. It's similar to the Idemitsu 0W20 (the old Honda 0W20), and it seems to be available inexpensively in CA.

That said, the CR-V isn't that picky on oil. Any oil which meets the specifications (and most that don't!) will be just fine. But you have to put something in there, so given a choice I'd go with the Toyota oil.

i was quoted just over 6$ per Litre for the 0w-20 toyota oil and 15$ per litre for the ford syn stuff. I didnt try the honda dealer but 6$ for the toyota stuff is a wicked price. especially compared to the other top shelf stuff thats around 14$ per litre.

you need to check with your friend at Honda. Caterham shared the news a while ago that Honda and Acura Canada is switching their bulk 0w-20 supplier, not sure how it impact the moly content. I was told by a parts guys, that Honda is in process of switching supplier of bottle as well. so check with your friends and make sure the 0w-20 you are getting is SM version.

I know that the bulk oil is petro Canada 0w20 and the bottle just says made is USA and that's what makes me wonder because my motorcycle honda oil say idemistu.
