Seems places like MS & LA really keep their citizens poor. You'd think that with the lowest avg house prices they'd be in the best ratio but they're not. Neat comparison on the graphs though.

Yes, worked in both states and it is interesting. Some observations were some residents of those states would work off shore or out of state in the oil or construction industries.
We looked at both states to move to because of the very favorable housing costs, and ample outdoor space. Nothing matched for us, but we did see a home that we would have strongly considered purchasing if it was still on the market AND I could have found employment.
One thing of note, the food everywhere in Southern Louisiana is absolutely fantastic, and just happens to also be affordable.
On the other hand, a man from New Orleans told me that public schools are simply not an option if you want your children to learn at schools basic skills like math and English.
