Does anyone make a homemade car wash? How do you make your version. Does it strip wax? Leave spots?

The big question that I have heard is making your own version of carwash that can be used in the Mr. Clean Auto Dry Wash systems. Has anyone tried to use plain car wash like Blue Coral's wash and wax soap with the filter as the spot free no dry rinse. Does it work?

I dump a bit of windshield washing fluid into a 5 gal bucket of warm water for washing the cars. Too much detergent or commercial car washes make short life of car wax; that's how waxes are often tested. WARNING WARNING - I pretty much only care how long water beads, and don't fawn about lustre or depth of shine or other such things.

Since I don't use dedicated store bought car wash stuff, I should have restated 'commercial car wash' as 'drive thru', which is what the wife uses. I ask her not to do that as it's not uncommon for the brushes to get loaded with dirt and scratch the finish.
