Heck, I didn't even change my front brakes until 90k miles on my Tacoma. 6mt and some highway miles helped. But still. Oh and still original clutch at 210k miles. So yea. 75k is a starting point on Toyota and lots of JDM brands

Back when it started in the late 80s/90s, there were a lot of malaise era cars still on the road that 75k miles was considered 'high mileage' for. They just stuck with the standard, I suppose. Back when buying a car with 100k was considered (and actually could be) a huge gamble.
