First off hello to all. As my car gets older and more miles I want to make sure that its getting the best. I've been using all Mobil 1 products for as long as I can remember and for the last 50k miles I've been using the Mobil 1 5w30 15k mile oil but doing OC's at 5-6k miles, I'm sure thats more than excessive. The last oil change though due to availability was done with Mobil 1 10w30High Mileage. Here is the other required info.

1. 2000 V6 Ford Mustang 3.8L 125,000 miles
2. Not sure about the owners manual off hand.
3. Live in Sunny South Florida
4. 90% of the time I drive easy but I like to get on it every now and then.
5. Its all city with a once every 4 months 800mile roundtrip.
6. So far no burning of any oil or any other engine problems.

stay with 5w30 mobil 1 and fl820s. oh wait its a v6, use what ever cheap but stay with 5w30.

Then Mobil 1 High Mileage 1-w-30 is supposed to be a VERY stout oil. Should work well in florida. I would do 2x OCI/annum. Or stretch to 7-8K. 5k is a waste.

For you there is no need for the Mobil 1 High Mileage oil. The 5-30EP is will work well for you for as long as you keep the car. High Mileage oil is for engines that may have collected sludge and needs to be cleaned up. I'm sure that's not the case with your engine as you have been using M1 all along.
Also you can extend your OCI to at least 10,000 miles with the EP oil.
